Trinidad Recipes side 1
For this project we were required to search two recipes for a given country. I was given Trinidad so I found a dinner recipe and a dessert recipe. For dinner I found Trinidad stewed chicken. We needed to put the ingredients, directions on how to make the recipe, a paragraph on the dish/culture, and a picture of the final recipe. For the picture of the dish I used Photoshop to match the original colors. I then used Paint to make the background look like the Trinidadian flag. This dish is usually drank with a glass of wine. It is also usually served with mashed potatoes, caramelized fried onions, and vegetables such as green beans. My dessert recipe is below. Enjoy !(:
Trinidad Recipes side 2
This is a Trinidad dessert called Barfi. This is usually served at Hindu or Moslem celebrations. This dessert is unique because it is made with sugar, water, grated ginger, powdered milk, heavy cream, and multicolored sprinkles. The sprinkles are optional, but are usually added to add color to the dessert. To make the picture I used Photoshop to match the colors to the original picture. I then took a picture of sprinkles and used the clone tool in Photoshop to clone to the base of the dessert. The background to this sheet is red, but when I uploaded it on here it didn't appear. Enjoy this dessert!
Mani-Pedi In A Can
For this assignment we were instructed to pick anything we wanted a create a can label for it. I chose to do a manicure/pedicure in a can. To start the project, we had to bring in an empty can without the label on it. We then took the measurements of the can and created a page on Microsoft Office Publisher. So the label would wrap around perfectly we had to leave a 1/2 mark blank. For the nutrition label, I took a normal label and changed it by erasing and adding new text on Photoshop. I also made my own coupon using Paint. This project brought out our creativity and was left up to what we wanted to put on it. Although we put what we wanted on it, we also had some restrictons. We had to put a graphic of the product, bar code, nutrition facts "(beauty facts)", manufacturer, advisories, ingredients, and symbols like copyright. At the end we printed, cut, and glued onto the original can. Also, my background is pink, but it doesn't appear on here. Enjoy(:
Animations
For this project we made animations. To do this we used Paint and GIF animator. We had to make an animation that was 20 to 50 slides long. For this project I did clouds that went away then the sun came out and birds did, too. After that the birds went into the tree and disappeared and the sun set. To make the animation I created each page and saved each of them seperately on Paint. Then after that I put the pictures into the GIF animator. For this we had to put the pictures in backwards so they would appear the right way when playing. I checked the box that said, "repeat forever" so the animation would keep repeating itself. I then made the duration of time longer so the animation would so long and you would be able to see all the steps. Enjoy(:
Tie Dye shirts :)
For this project we tie dyed shirts. We had to bring in a white shirt to tye dye. Before we tie dyed we watched videos of patterns and safety cautions for this project. In the picture my shirt is the third one in from the right. It is the purple with pink and blue. First, we put our shirts in a bucket of baking soda and water and let them soak. Once they were done, if we wanted a spiral, we put an "x" on the spot we wanted the spiral to start. After that we flipped our shirts inside out and pinched the "x" and starting spinning the shirt so creases would be made. Once the shirt was in a spinned roll we put elastics to hold it together. We dyed the shirts and put them to dry. When they were dry we took them home and put them in vinegar and then washed it in the washing machine and dryer by itself to let out the excess dye. Enjoy :)
