About Me Brochure With Self-Portrait!
Page 1
For this assignment were instructed to create a self-portrait that looked sketched to put on a brochure. First, we had our picture taken and then we worked with it on the computer. We worked on paint so we could make ourselves black & white and work with our eyes, background, and clothes shades. Then we brought our pictures into Photoshop where we filtered them to look like sketches. After our portraits were done we created brochures about a business we’d want to have when we grow up. I chose a Doctor’s office because I want to be a Pediatrician when I grow up. I wrote like I was in the future in my brochure and I was already owning the business. My brochure explains about me, my schooling, why my Doctor’s office is so special, and why my patients like us so much. My Doctor’s office would be the perfect kingdom for any child. It is fun to be in, it has playhouse tubes like McDonalds, you get stickers on your way out, you get to choose a prize out of a treasure box, and most importantly our nurses and doctors treat you the right way; with respect and kindness. This was a successful project and really made us think outside of the box as to what we want to do with our future. :)

Cd Cover
For this assignment we were asked to pick a song and make a cd cover for it. I picked the song Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Hereos. We made covers using publisher. I noticed the song was talking about music to his heart and stereos. Every picture we got, we had to fix and make our own. For each picture I used paint to fix them. For the hearts I took out the background, for the stereo I added the pink trim, for the flames I took out the black background and filtered it in photoshop, for the music notes i took out the background, and for the record label I wrote KC records in paint to make it mine. The inside of the cd cover is below. The inside contains the lyrics to the song and a couple of pictures I editted using paint. For an extra, I added Travie Mccoy and Adam Levine as endorsers and I had added a blue background to the cover, but it didn't appear when I added it here. I also added a special thanks from the Gym Class Heroes. Enjoy! :)
CD Cover #2
For this assignment we were given a song by Mr. Adams. We needed to make a CD cover for our song. I got the song Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum. This song was about a man at the bar singing and falling in love with a female sailor, but she needed to go back on duty and leave him. So for this project I started with the waitor's arm. I cleaned the background and added a border around him. After I used the clone technique on Photoshop to add the music note onto the tray. I then added the sailor hat on the note and cloned two small hearts onto the hat. I made my own fonts on Photoshop and inserted them onto the cover. I then moved onto the inside of the cd cover. On the inside I looked up a female sailor and cleaned her background on Photoshop. I then looked up the lyrics and pasted them onto the inside cover. When I was done with the inside I moved onto the back of the cover. For the back I added a special dedication paragraph, a barcode, a record label (made on paint), an endorsement by E-Harmony, and a copyright.I also had a background with bubbles on the whole cd cover, but it didn't show up when I added it here. The inside of my cover is below! Enjoy! :)
Cloning Activity
At first this picture was just the ocean with the women laying on the sand. I took that picture and a picture of a little girl and cloned her into the water using the clone tool on Photoshop. I also took a picture of beach toys and cloned them onto the sand. To use the clone tool you have to push Ctrl and click on the spot on the picture you want to clone. Then you go to the picture you want it cloned on and press the mouse where you want it and it will clone the other picture onto that one! ENJOY:)
Calendar: July 2012!
For this assignment we are creating calendars. We started with the month of July because it is the only month that we will work on the grid and top picture together. With the other months the format variates. For example we could be working on April's picture with October's grid at the same time because when we print it and then fold it later, it will come out the right way. For July, I used Photoshop and cloned many pictures of fireworks onto the picture I looked up. I then added the "United States Independence" font to the top. At the bottom of the picture we were required to write a little essay. For my essay I described a little bit about how I spend my fourth of July every year. For the grids I filtered the flag in Photoshop and also changed the brightness and contrast of the picture. I also added a little flag on the 4th and put the important phases of the moon. In July the full moon is on the 3rd and the new moon is on the 19th. On the bottom of the grid I put an interesting fact saying, "Did you know July is National Ice Cream month and an average American eats 23.3 quarts of ice cream yearly!" Enjoy!
June/August
This is the June/August section of the calendar. For this section we needed to make the June grid and August picture upside down after we were finished. We did this so when we print and fold our calendars they will come out the right way. For June's grid I used a picture of pool water and added a pool float. I also added a crab on my sister, Kelsey's birthday because her zodiac sign is cancer (a crab) I also created my own sun and added it on June 20th (first day of summer). I also added the full moon and new moon days. On the top I added an interesting fact. For August I added things that reminded me of the summer since August is one of the hottest months. I put a sun (it didn't show on here). I also added a beach background and a birthday cake saying "happy birthday kylee" since my birthday is in August. I cloned 2 dolphins on a picture of a cruise ship because I love taking vacations in the summer. Enjoy! :)
